santa in the slum
Brief History of Santa's Love in the Slum.
Vision
A world where no child feels forgotten during Christmas, and every child believes in the magic of hope.
Mission
To bridge the gap of inequality for underprivileged children in Lagos slums by delivering gifts, meals, and joyful experiences that restore hope and self-worth.
Our Story
Santa’s Love in the Slum began in 2020 with a playful dare. Our founder put on a Santa costume, never imagining it would spark a movement. Children rushed with laughter, parents offered prayers, and one mother pleaded for Santa to visit her children.
With no gifts at hand, the founder and his wife quickly bought sweets and biscuits to share. That day, a seed was planted. What began as a joke became a yearly promise: no child should be left out of Christmas joy.
From serving 150 children in Mushin, SLISI has grown to reach over 5,000 children across Lagos slums every year. In 2023, we became a registered nonprofit, building stronger partnerships and creating unforgettable experiences of joy.
